Video: madrid – a workaway story
When I started my gap year, I was focused on two words–discover and develop. I wanted to discover new people, cultures, languages, places, and foods. I looked forward to broadening my perspectives on life and a gaining an even greater appreciation for our planet. I also wanted to rediscover myself–my motivations, values, and goals. I was hopeful I could develop new (and existing) skills and attributes. Travel was one of the ways to meet these goals, and workaway was a great platform to enable that. As an au pair, I could discover Madrid and Spain, and I could develop a few skills–including Spanish and childcare.
I didn’t know everything that my adventure would hold, but I was looking forward to it all. This video tells a story about my experiences on this workaway trip and the surprises I encountered along the way. After September, I spent a week in France, and then a month in Pamplona, continuing my larger workaway experience.
This video was mostly filmed in Madrid and the surrounding cities, but also includes a few clips from back home (the U.S.). Thank you Ana, José, and Miguel – they are a wonderful family! Cheers to everyone I met on my adventure–it was a pleasure :)
